Privacy Policy

Aidrobe LLC ("we", "us", or "our") operates the SimplePoTranslate website, REST API, and official SimplePoTranslate WordPress plugin (together, the "Service"). This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to provide and improve the Service:

  • Account Data: Email address and first/last name when you sign up, collected via authentication.
  • Uploaded Content: The .po, .pot, i18next .json, and .xliff files you upload for translation, including all source strings and any context or comments they contain.
  • Usage Data: Target language, translation mode, job status, monthly string counts, and similar operational metadata used for quotas and support.
  • Technical Data: IP address, User-Agent string, and request timestamps recorded in standard web server logs.
  • Billing Data: For paid plans, Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

  • Provide the core translation service by processing your uploaded content through AI translation.
  • Track plan usage against your monthly string quota and handle billing.
  • Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
  • Detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and maintain service security.

Important: Your uploaded files are processed solely to produce translations for you. We do not use your content to train public or proprietary AI models.

3. Data Retention & Deletion

We delete your translation content automatically on the following schedule:

  • Free plan: Uploaded files and translation results are deleted 30 days after the job completes.
  • Pro and Lifetime plans: Uploaded files and translation results are deleted 90 days after the job completes.
  • Download links: Signed download URLs for translation result ZIPs expire 24 hours after they are issued. You can re-issue a link from your dashboard as long as the file is still within the retention window above.

After the retention period ends, translation files are permanently removed from our storage. Job metadata (such as file name, target language, status, and string count) may be retained longer for billing and support history.

4. API Access & the WordPress Plugin

The Service can be used through the website, the REST API, or the official SimplePoTranslate WordPress plugin, which is a client of the same API. API access is available only on paid plans.

  • API key: When you create an API key in your dashboard, the raw key (prefixed "spt_") is shown to you once and then stored server-side only as a SHA-256 hash. The raw key itself is never stored in our database or logs. If you lose a key, you must revoke it and create a new one.
  • Authenticated requests: Every request from the plugin or any other API client sends: your API key as a Bearer token, the file content you want translated, a target language code, optional tone and mode parameters, and a standard IP address / User-Agent pair recorded in server logs.
  • Key revocation: You can revoke any API key at any time from your dashboard. Revoked keys stop working immediately.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We rely on the following third parties to deliver the Service. They process data only on our instructions and only to perform their specific role.

  • Payment processing: Stripe processes subscription payments and stores billing details. We never see or store your full card number.
  • AI translation: Third-party AI providers, including Google Gemini and fallback providers. The content of your files is sent to these providers to produce translations. Provider identities are available on request.
  • Infrastructure: Supabase (authentication, database, file storage) and Hostinger (application hosting).

6. Analytics

On our marketing pages we use the following services to understand how visitors use the site. These services are not used when you upload or translate files.

  • Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager: Traffic and usage analytics.
  • Microsoft Clarity: Session recordings and heatmaps for UX improvement.
  • Meta (Facebook) Pixel: Advertising measurement and retargeting.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies:

  • Authentication: Secure, HTTP-only cookies set by Supabase to keep you signed in.
  • Analytics: Cookies set by the analytics providers listed above. You can block these in your browser without affecting the translation service.
  • Preferences: Locale and interface preferences.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion of your data (the "right to be forgotten").
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at hello@simplepotranslate.com. We handle deletion requests manually and will confirm once they are completed.

9. Security

We use HTTPS for all traffic, store API keys only as SHA-256 hashes, and follow industry-standard practices for authentication and access control. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we work to protect your data but cannot guarantee absolute security.
